Medium-term budget speech | Government debt rising faster than economic growth

CAPE TOWN – Government debt is too high and is rising faster than economic growth. 
Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana says the debt will balloon to over R6-trillion in the next financial year.

He says hundreds of billions are being spent just to service the debt.
But, the Minister says steps are being taken to address this.
He was delivering the medium-term budget in Cape Town.
